Rahul Agrawal has over 20 years of experience in strategy development and investment planning with expertise in the social development sector. Prior to joining Intellecap, he was the Director at NRMC, an evidence-based impact advisory, and research firm. His entrepreneurial zeal is guided by the belief that creative disruption through constant innovation is the key to creating large-scale impact. In the development sector, Rahul is committed to applying innovative management approaches in solving complex human development issues with an aim to design programs and processes that enable inclusive growth. Over the last two decades, Rahul has led on projects worth over a billion dollars, paving the way for innovative and adaptable solutions for various development challenges. Rahul is passionate about redefining development narratives to design and curate solutions to drive development beyond addressing marginalization. In his past experience, Rahul has designed and executed greenfield projects in the areas of health and education. Rahul has led on UN and other multilateral/ bilateral agencies supported evaluations on infant and young child nutrition, maternal nutrition, micronutrient supplementation and fortification, child rights and child protection, adolescent health and wellbeing, education. He has been a lead evaluator of the Joint UNICEF-GoB Nutrition Programme and the WFP School Feeding Programme in Bangladesh.

Engaging with governments, development finance institutions, civil society organizations, corporates, and foundations in India and South Asia, and South East Asia, he has provided technical and program management advisory to numerous stakeholders, with a strong focus on forging partnerships. He was also nominated as one of the 100 Influencers in India’s Impact Sector in 2018 by Action for India. 

Jayesh Bhatia has over 29 years of experience in the natural resources management and the rural development sector. With post graduate degrees from the prestigious Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal and University of Oxford, Jayesh has worked with a range of organisations and institutions in India. Jayesh is a strategic thinker, problem solver and a leading voice in the social development sector, especially in augmenting livelihoods for the underserved communities. Jayesh established and scaled NR Management Consultants India Pvt Ltd. NRMC India as a leading development support organisation working extensively in the rural and social development sector in India. Jayesh is adept at scaling up successful pilots across the range of sectors- NRM, WASH, and Rural Livelihood. He has worked extensively with UN organisations, JICA, DFID, the World Bank, State Government departments and Ministries of Government of India. He has also led and coordinated multi-cultural and multi-agency teams in delivering complex assignments for various donors in India, South-East and South Asia and Africa. As a catalyst for social impact, Jayesh strongly believes in people’s participation in framing policies and has worked on promoting and communicating policy change by working closely with governments, international organizations, donors, NGOs and communities. Jayesh was awarded the Mitchell Young Scholar award by HARC’s Center for Global Studies and Rice University’s Energy and Environmental Systems Institute to explore the transition to sustainable development.

Shailesh has over 21 years of experience spanning natural resource management, climate change adaptation, rural livelihoods, institutional development, project planning and management and monitoring and evaluation. His work in research and consultancy is based on extensive experience at the grassroot level in rural areas of various states of India. During this period, Shailesh has provided research, documentation and consultancy support to different government and donor aided projects across various states in India. Some of these projects were funded by SIDA, CIDA, National Dairy Development Board, British High Commission, World Food Programme, IFAD, JICA, GIZ, UNDP, UN Women, OXFAM and Government of India.

He has helped various agencies (including Save the Children and Breakthrough Trust) in designing projects related to child rights and adolescent empowerment. He has also led various monitoring and evaluation projects which are experimental and quasi experimental in design. He has used mixed method approaches and participatory research techniques to enhance learning for the projects, policies and other stakeholders. In the past Shailesh has worked with UN organisations including UNICEF, IKEA Foundation, Breakthrough, Save the Children and multiple Government agencies.

He is an alumnus of University of Cambridge, UK; Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal; and has been a Shell-Chevening scholar. His current interest areas are climate change adaptation especially in forestry and agriculture sector, bio-energy and rural livelihoods; and disaster management.

Amar has over 30 years of experience in accounts, financial and grant management for projects supported by Government of India, State Governments, multilateral and bilateral funding agencies. He has done his Bachelors in Commerce from Delhi University.

Anurag brings in over 22 years of experience in project formulation, planning, implementation and management of projects. Anurag has been engaged with different ministries under Government of India, various departments of State Governments, bi-lateral / multi-lateral agencies (UNDP, JICA, World Bank, WSP, Unicef, UNWFP, USAID etc.), INGOs, NGOs and Corporates. He has been involved in project design, business development, project implementation and management. The development sector continues to be his passion, and he has now been consulting on projects of development as Expert of MIS/GIS/Survey & Mapping and Monitoring & Evaluation in different sectors e.g. rural development, agriculture, forestry, livelihoods, child rights, health, nutrition, WASH etc. Presently, he is leading long term JICA assisted Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignments and is the focal point for clients to ensure quality delivery of consulting services. Before Intellecap, Anurag has worked at NRMC and earlier as an independent consultant, to Agriculture Finance Corporation, South Asia Partnership-India, Deendayal Research Institute etc. and provided inputs on data management, analysis and generation of different thematic reports. Anurag has a Master’s degree with specialization in Management Information System and research Methodology.

Ajay Kumar has over 14 years of experience in the corporate and social sector. He has worked in the Livelihoods and Skill Division giving support to program management and office administration. His major support has been in budget preparation and managing financial matters. During his work in projects he also focuses on liaising with the team and streamlining the work. Prior joining to Intellecap, he has been with NRMC and has also been associated with Citibank as Team Leader, where he was leading and managing MIS .

Ajay Kumar holds a MBA degree with specialization in Finance and Administration from Bhagalpur University.

Chandra Mohan has more than 30 years of cross-functional experience in Administration and Office Management, leading and managing multi-location operations.

His support to organizations include procurement, contract management and vendor development among other things.

He has managed various Human Resource Management (HRM) projects, wherein he has provided administrative support to various government and non-government organizations such as Nutrition International, Ministry of Minorities Affairs (MoMA), Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA), Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation (MDWS), Uttarakhand  Forest Resource Management Project (UFRMP), Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) and Project for Sustainable Catchment Forest Management in Tripura (SCATFORM).

Being a strong planner with ability to work independently, “can-do” attitude, he has successfully setup new administrative operations across various cities of India including procurement of manpower and services.

Shivangi has over 12 years of experience in the development sector as a consultant as well as a social entrepreneur. Within the development sector consulting space, Shivangi has worked on assignments across an array of thematic areas such as agriculture, rural income, gender, child rights and education. In the last few years her focus area thematically has been within the agriculture-conservation-emissions intersection, helping international funding and conservation agencies design programmes at scale across diverse geographies within India, unpacking the complexities of the sector towards creating sustainable, impactful and equitable solutions.

Shivangi has also extensively worked on and independently led multiple medium to large scale impact evaluations, situational analysis and needs assessments for multilateral agencies such as UN Women and corporate social responsibility clients such as Vedanta Foundation, Ikea Foundation, Axis Bank Foundation to name a few.

Prior to her experience as a development sector consultant, Shivangi co-founded a not-for-profit organization in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – Sarthak Foundation. Sarthak works on providing after school support to children living in slums of Lucknow by improving their access to quality learning and essential life skills. Currently the organization works with over 1000 children in Lucknow and also runs a low-cost primary school in one of the remote villages of Sitapur district. Shivangi has a bachelor’s in economics from Lucknow University and master’s degree in management.

Pravanjan has over 17 years of experience in the development sector with his core expertise in project planning, management, monitoring & evaluation, capacity building and action research. Pravanjan has been working on developing solutions to catalyse land rights research, M&E and capacity building in land, livelihoods and forest space. To strengthen the sustainable land ecosystem, he has been vital to the setting up of the Center for Land Governance, a platform that aims to bring together all stakeholders in land governance. His efforts are to bridge the existing gaps in the land governance space through utilization of knowledge, information, capacity and resources. He is also involved in organizing the India Land and Development Conference (ILDC), an annual international conference hosted by more than 40 partner institutions and organizations globally. Pravanjan has worked with a diverse set of clients including governments, multilaterals and foundations such as IFAD, DFID, WFP, World Bank, JICA, GIZ, OXFAM, CRS etc. across India and South Asia. He has contributed to projects focusing on tribal development, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of natural resources based livelihood and food security projects primarily for the underprivileged communities. He has worked with organizations like UNDP, SIDBI, State and Central Government departments. As part of these organizations, he has spearheaded several concept designs, program development and facilitated execution. Pravanjan holds a master’s degree in management from Utkal University and completed his law degree in Environmental Law. He is practices roof top vegetable farming and volunteers with Bhubaneswar City Farmer’s Association to promote urban farming.

Throw her a curve ball and see her ideas thrive in action. Mrinalini is unrelenting in breaking down complex issues to their last thread. She brings an interdisciplinary approach, using various art-forms to engage with communities, applying an anthropological lens to examine gender issues and her theatrical background when exploring social norms. Her observations on unboxing identities helps her design custom suited strategies to address intersectional marginalities.

Mrinalini has worked closely on various thematic areas such as Social Exclusion, Gender, Child Rights, Adolescent Empowerment, Health and Nutrition, Urban Poverty, Labour Rights, Migration, as well as life skills development. She has worked with multilateral and bi-lateral organizations such as UN Women, UNICEF, World Food Programme, IKEA Foundation and Breakthrough Trust. As a gender expert, Mrinalini has been part of evaluation teams conducting numerous strategic and summative evaluations in South and South East Asia.

Her true passion remains her ethnographic work on the transgender population of India, as she continues to apply and adapt various frameworks and approaches to understand and analyse the underlying factors and implications of gender discrimination, social exclusion and violence.

Mrinalini has been instrumental in setting up Nil, a  social impact lab that uses design thinking principles to develop impactful behavioural solutions.

Mrinalini is currently also a Visiting Faculty at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, teaching Cultural Anthropology and Visual Culture.

Mrinalini completed her post-graduation in Community Organization and Development Practice at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She has also been a scholar at the University of Chicago, wherein she studied community development, development economics, public policy and refugee studies as part of a prestigious scholarship programme.

Animesh works at the intersection of Behavioural Sciences, Design Thinking and Social Behaviour Change, crafting solutions to collective problems. He is skilled in designing, testing and evaluating behavioural solutions on diverse thematic areas, with specific focus on natural resources-based livelihoods and gender.

Animesh was instrumental in setting up Nil, a  social impact lab that uses design thinking principles to develop impactful behavioral solutions. In the past, he has worked closely with clients like UNICEF, WFP, JHU CCP, Breakthrough Trust, TRIf, SwissAid, BMGF and FHI360. He is currently involved in developing empathy-led transformational solutions for subsistence farmers, adolescent boys as-well-as retail and wholesale traders.

Animesh specialises in unpacking socio-cultural contexts and constructing behavioural narratives for designing behavioural solutions, and using innovative experiential and observational techniques for testing such solutions. He possesses rich experience of using experimental and quasi-experimental research designs for evaluating social impact.

Prior to joining Intellecap, Animesh was working with NRMC and BBC Media Action, India. He has completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from LBSIM – Delhi, and Bachelor in Commerce from University of Delhi.

Pranab is a passionate researcher and an empathetic soul, eager to serve the marginalised and the environment. He started his journey as a Scientist with India’s National Agriculture Research System, developing model watersheds to restore hill landscapes and tribal livelihoods, that led to the prestigious National Team Award in 2002. To serve the development sector more flexibly, he left his job after a decade and since then, has expanded his engagements around water, livelihoods, forestry and land, building evidence and making recognizable impact at the national and international level. He has led and guided large scale bilateral and multi-country projects around climate change, food security, forestry and livelihoods and has accompanied and evaluated donor-funded projects around NRM, livelihoods and value chain projects across India and South Asia. He founded and leads the Center for Land Governance (CLG), which in a shot span of six years, has been acknowledged as a leading land think tank around land governance policy and research in India and globally. CLG’s work spans across  rural, urban, forest and agriculture landscapes cross-cutting gender, technology, justice and sustainability.

Apart from engaging on policy and action research with governments, the World Bank, donors and national and international universities, CLG also organises an annual India Land and Development Conference, an unique land convening in South Asia. Pranab is a nominated member of the executive committee of Green India Mission of Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change of Government of India since 2017. His work has been widely published in international peer reviewed journals and has presented papers in international conferences. He also writes in national media and takes land related courses in premier institutes like IIM Ahmedabad and Xavier’s University Bhubaneswar on invitation.
